Hand-sewn embellishments and distressing. The white gown & black tux is the ubiquitous symbol of traditional, cis-hetrormative, marriage in the western world. A partnership centered on image, transaction, and ownership. Who benefits the most from traditional marriage?

The white wedding dress was a trend that became a tradition set by Queen Victoria 180 years ago. Before people would wear any color of their favorite gown and since we are in new times of how we celebrate partnership the garments should reflect that more. Disrupting this hyper-focus on one type of romantic love makes space for genuine appreciation of several other forms of love we can experience in our lifetime.

Price - $8,000. DM the artist to purchase.
