Cath Fountain, 2022
Cath Fountain, 2022 is a sculpture that questions the definition of glitch art. Inspired by a past video work, the sculpture expands the definition of glitch by focusing on functionality rather than digital aesthetic. By repurposing an intermittent urinary catheter, which has hyper-specific one-use functionality, the sculpture glitches the catheter. Its repurposing, which involves creating a small water fountain, allows one to explore sustainability as it pertains to chronically ill or injured bodies and the societal norm for single use plastics.
