A Roadmap From Trauma, 2022
Drew Ross is a 23 year old Brooklyn born, Queens living non-binary artist. When they aren’t taking long pointless hiatuses from making art or fantasizing about fleeing America, they are pushing themself to heal from the boogeyman that is childhood trauma. In “A roadmap from trauma” Drew puts it all on display both literally and figuratively as their naked body is depicted under a mapped overlay they created based on locations from their childhood and adolescence that had a significant impact on them. Small snapshots of said locations are pinned to their body as a reminder that no matter how old we get, unless we are brave enough to start the journey to healing, we will never escape our pain because trauma lives in the body.
